Have you ever had one of these experiences? You lose something, or mess something up, out of your own brainlessness.... And someone, perhaps even someone you don't know that well, helps you out of the goodness of their heart, without expecting anything in return? Well, that happened to me recently... I lost the cloud dies that went with my rainbow set from Laura's company, Lil' Inker. We are facebook friends, and I contacted her hoping to purchase new dies, but separately since I already had the other dies and stamps. She didn't have any sets that she could split up, but instead offered to give me the sample dies she had from when she tested the product. I was just so floored by her generosity. Sadly, in this day and age, there are more people who look out for "#1" and their own best interest. So when someone does something that is just kind, takes time out of their day to mail something to you, something you LOST because you were not being careful... Well, that just doesn't happen very often. So THANK YOU, Laura for being **that** kind of person. I really do appreciate it! :)
I knew I wanted to use the super CUTE perforated edge cloud dies for the body of the card... I'd been turning design over in my head for a couple days, I felt I wanted to create a sort of "puzzle" effect, by cutting the clouds out, and then using that negative space to pop some clouds in of a different color... Then today, I saw this awesome color palette at Just Add Ink 108, I don't believe I've ever played there before, but this is SOOOO right up my alley blues/browns... and perfect for the sky card I was envisioning.....
and here's another shot of my card:
I used some newer product on this: some stitching rub-ons from the dollar bin, and some glitter tape. I also layered up some buttons and tied them with some aqua bakers twine. I also used some of this pretty woodgrain paper that I've been so hooked on recently! :)
and the inside:
and that is all for me today! Pay it forward is my motto for the day. :) Thanks again, Laura!!
xoxo, Noelle
