My first Moxie Fab challenge!! Petticoat Card/pleated ribbon

Hello, I'm back with my first ever attempt at a Moxie Fab challenge! Here is the link to Moxie Fab. The challenge is to use pleats in an innovative way. I started on this idea on a previous post here. I was thinking that the pleated ribbon underneath the large scallop reminded me of women's clothing in the 1800's when they used to wear petticoats. Back in my theater days we had to wear petticoats and corsets when we did period acting. I will tell you those corsets are really uncomfortable! No wonder women fainted on a regular basis!  I'm glad to live in modern times where jeans and t-shirts are acceptable clothing for women:)  However, there is something unmistakebly feminine about a ruffly petticoat, so that was my jumping off point.

I cut my card front out of Going Gray cardstock & used my large curved scallop punch along the bottom. I sprayed the whole front with Vanilla Smooch Spritz to give it some glimmer. Then I ran some sticky Strip along the back side and pleated my satin ribbon along that adhesive. I ended up cutting off a bit of the top of the card front because I wanted the red back of the card to show a bit at the bottom. For the main stamped panel, I stamped my image on white & colored with the Copics. Then I mounted it on some purple cardstock (retired SU!-sorry I'm not sure of the color...) I scored the front and back pieces near the top and adhered them together with sparkly white brads. I made a "poinsettia" out of red scalloped circles, similar to the flowers I've been making alot lately. Wet the layers and fold towards the center, unflod & shape, sprayed with the Smooch Spritz as well. When it was dry, I added a fancy white filigree brad & a puched snowflake. Final step was to add some rhinestones both to the stamped image & also to the scallop near the "petticoat" ribbon.

Supply list; cardstock (Real Red, Whisper White, going Gray and purple) SU!, stamp-SU!, fancy brads: The Paper Studio, punches;EK Success, snowflake punch: Martha Stewart Crafts, markers;Copic, Smooch Spritz, rhinestones;Hobby Lobby

Red, purple and gray might be a little bit of weird colors for Christmas, but I like this card- it is very fancy:)

I hope you like it too! Have a great day!! -Noelle

You did an awesome job coloring in that very detailed image. The "skirt" is such a fun accent.
