Christmas Decor 2013

Hi there friends! FINALLY getting some of these posts done! Sure have missed blogging as of late! Here's one for today and two more scheduled for Monday and Christmas Day. :)

I have had a GREAT week, I was hired for my dream job that begins in January 2014, I will be teaching theater to kids through a children's theater conservatory here in Denver. It's starting out very part time, which is perfect for me as my youngest is still home 2-3 days per week right now. It pays really well for Fine Arts. Sounds like there may be future opportunities with this company as well. So I hope to expand as he is gone more and more. I also found that I will have two more cards published in CardMaker magazine in the Autumn 2014 issue! Woot woot! :) So, I really am feeling like life is on the upswing, looking forward to this coming year a LOT. :)

Wanted to share some holiday decor pics for this year. I had 2 new areas to decorate in my house this year, which always makes it fun. :) I revamped my dining room and added this great hutch which gave me a fun place to decorate. And last year for Christmas, we bought a new TV and console, so I had that area as well. Since I have WAY too much holiday decorating stuff already, I didn't need to buy much of anything, it was just fun to put things up a little differently! Here are some former holiday decorating posts from 2012, and 2011 too. :)

Here is the dining room table. I used a cute tinsel tree from Hobby Lobby (bought a couple years ago), a Pottery Barn snowman candle I bought used last year, a glitzy reindeer from Target, and some burlap snowflake ribbon. I was trying to go vintage/rustic/classy. So "vintclastic" perhaps?

Here are some shots of the hutch, I used my Grandma's vintage ornaments in the glass hurricane, and some other fun glitzy things in the other glass containers.

I didn't buy much this year, but I did pick up these vintage Santa mugs (one large and two mini) at an antiques store. You can see the boy's Santa pic from this year behind. My oldest finally weaseled his way out of the pic this year.... I guess he's 13, so it was bound to happen sooner or later! :( The frame is from Kohl's

Here's my elves that my Mom gave me, we always had these out at Christmas growing up. I've always been very attached to them. Since I'm the only one of HER kids who has 3 "elves" of my own, I inherited them! The bowl behind is a clearance find from TJ Maxx.
And a shot of the whole top part of the hutch:

Onto the family room!
One of my new additions in here this year was the Willow Tree Nativity Set my Mom bought me for my birthday. My birthday isn't until next week, but she gave it to me early so I could have it up for the season, I LOVE this! The angel and the sign she is on are out year round. My friend Beth gave her to me, she is called "Courage." :) I thought that big snowflake behind them was a nice representation of the Star of Bethlehem.

Here's a few more shots of the Family Room. The "snow" canvas was a project from a few years back.

These are Santa pics from years gone by. I can't believe how big my boys are now! :(

And here's the TV console, our TV hangs on the wall above it. :) I am so glad we bought it last year for Christmas, we have enjoyed a lot more family TV time, now it's big enough we can all see it! Ha!

That's all for me today, hope you are all having a FAB holiday season!! :)

hugs, Noelle

Everything looks lovely Noelle. It's been so hectic around here I haven't even had time to take pictures. And if I did you would see all the dust bunnies along with the decor! I'm hoping to get caught up this weekend. Congrats on the new job too - that sounds awesome and perfect for you.
