Watermelon Birthday Card (Curtain Call/Watermelon Wonder)

Hi friends, I am feeling creatively "blocked" this week. I feel overwhelmed because: the boys need to go back to school, I was gone for a week and I am way behind on getting ready for Back To School, laundry, blog work, submissions, and more. I start a new theater class in a few weeks and there's a lot of prep work I need to do for that as well. The stress is starting to really fry me. The best way to combat that blocked feeling is to push myself to be creative, even if it's not what I feel like doing. So, I decided to play a challenge today.

The Curtain Call Challenge is back in town! I was really excited to see Stacey revive the Curtain Call. When I first started blogging 3 years ago, I loved playing the Curtain Call Color Challenge. I really want to support Stacey in her new venture, and I loved this pretty photo collage! Here's the link to play!

I used the colors and the paper medallions as a jumping off point. I decided to go simple, not a lot of stamping. This card is primarily ephemera and came together pretty quickly. I did use my "Build A Bingo" stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas to stamp some presents on the Bingo card, but that was all the stamping I did.
I love October Afternoon Miscellany packs. The bingo card and the tag are from the one called "Cakewalk." The button is also OA-I think I got all the OA stuff from Peachy Cheap. The paper and medallions are from American Crafts. I tied the candle on with some Apple Divine Twine. I don't know why the bow looks so wonky head on in these pics.... it's really cute in person, I promise! ;)
I figured I could fill in the "to and from" on the tag when I give it away. Happy Tuesday, crafty friends!

I think now I've broken through that artist block, that some scrapbooking is in order.... I have so MUCH scrapbooking to do that I *thought* I was going to have time to work on over the summer-so far I've made  a whole zero pages this summer, lol. Do other Moms have this conception that they are going to have "all this time" when their kids are on break? I don't know why I think that-since they're off school and I don't like running errands a lot with them, I tend to think I'll be home a lot-and bored. But the truth is; even though they are almost 13, 11, and 6-they still need a lot of attention, and they still make a lot of messes! LOL. In less than a week they'll be back to school-I think we are all ready for that! ;) They have friends over today, so even though there are 5 boys in my house, instead of the normal 3-they are occupied and that's nice!

Have a wonderful day!
xo, Noelle
