TCP Sneaky Peek Week: day 1 "Bring On The Cake!" & TCPTUES Long Tall Card Challenge

Hi all! I finally got my kids off to school last week. And, even though the littlest one only goes to school 2-3 days per week, I'm catching up quickly. Amazing what you can get done in a few hours without kids in the house. And, it case you haven't guessed from the title of this post, today marks the beginning of SNEAKY PEEK WEEK! Yea! This release will knock your socks off, it's amazing! I was so excited when I saw the proofs, every single set I could really see myself using often, and the new CutUps are awesome, too! :)

Today is also the third Tuesday of the month, and the August TCP Tuesday Challenge is the "Long Tall Card Challenge." Here's a few words from Alma about the challenge:

**"We tend to make the same size card. 4.25" x 5.25" or sometimes we get daring a do a square card.
Problem with these cards is that we have to buy special envies for the cards. Or for the square cards, we have to pay extra postage.
This challenge celebrates that underused envelope, the long, tall one. The legal sized one. The Number Nine.
So, the challenge is to create a card that fits in the Long, Tall, envelope."

and here's my long, tall card featuring the new set "Bring On The Cake!" It's also featuring the Bitty Banners and Framed Up CutUps. I LOVE the Framed Up CutUps, super versatile! I used the big die in the Framed Up CutUps to stamp my Cake Bun on and then I used the smallest die for the sentiment.

The Bitty Banners are designed to work well with this set from the last release "Small Sayings." I love that you can layer them, and you can see in the graphic here that they are scored so you can fold the tops over twine or ribbon. On this card I actually used them upside down because I decided I wanted the scalloped edge along the bottom of the banner, instead of the top. I was mirroring the decorative edge I made with the Toppers CutUps.

This was a fun card, I love the way Cake Bun's super glitzy dark-blue nose turned out. :)

Here's a closeup on Cake Bun:

You are going to see a LOT of Divine Twine here this week! When Alma had that big sale last month, I stocked up and bought seven spools!

The DPs used are DCWV "Fiesta Stack."

That's all for me today, make sure and see what my DT friends have in store with this cute set! :)

hugs, Noelle

What a fun card, Noelle, I love your bright, bold colors, cute images as well. Thanks for your thoughts, I always miss my babies when they are gone. As for the weather, it is a few degrees cooler, but we are drying up, grass is dying. I only have water for the flowers and trees, hoping I can keep them alive until the next rain! Have a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy your school year!
