Happy Halloween 2013

Happy Halloween! Hope you all are having a fabulously spoooooky day! :) I was out of town last weekend, and between that and TCP Release week, I have been swamped! But I did get 53 pages done at the scrap retreat in the mountains last weekend, so I feel very good about getting more caught up there :)

Normally, we are home on Halloween and I make a bowl of special goodies for the kids we know. Last year they were these little goody bags. This year we are going to a friends house and won't be here, but I did want to send something over for my neighbor's little ones, they are adorable little kids! :) So, I got there coloring packs at Target dollar Spot, I figured they will probably be plenty sugared up already, and this would be something they could do after the candy is all gone, maybe :) Just made some simple tags to tie onto these. I used an old SU! set, and a Paper Smooches bat, he is so funny! :)

The other thing I threw together quickly is a tag for a hostess gift. My friend is so gracious to invite all of us to her house on Halloween. The kids are going to trick or treat together, and it's a potluck, I'm really looking forward to it! Walmart has these super cute salt/pepper shaker sets for only 3$. I got the squirrel ones for mu own kitchen and picked up these pumpkins and a leaf set for hostess gifts. they also have owls, adorable! :) I used my new CASual fridays set on this tag, plus an old flower that I made a couple years ago and never put to use.

I'll leave you with some pics of my crazy pumpkin carving boys! C desperately needs a haircut, we are having a bit of a power struggle over this one! Oy.

Have a fabulous Halloween!

The Cat's Pajamas Release Week-Wrapping It Up

Hi all! If you are looking for the Blog Hop, it is one post below this one. But I did want to take a minute to share the other cards that I made for this latest Release, which is NOW available on our Swanky new website!! :)  Here's my final cards:

This first one was made with "Believe," I LOVE this Santa Penguin on the roof! :)

To make my roof I used both the Toppers CutUps and the Holiday Toppers CutUps. I added some Stickles for glitz.
The next one is using the set "Simply Holiday"and the new Ornaments CutUps.

I also used the Toppers CutUps on the bottom corner there.
The string of ornaments was fun to make!
The final card I made for this Release is called "Vintage Holiday." It pairs beautifully with our Framed Up CutUps, super fun! :)

I love the addition of these vintage look sets to TCP's usual "fun" style. They are gorgeous! :)

You can also see teeny bits of a Snowflake Lace Paper doily peeking out there, in gold. :)

I hope you enjoyed this Release as much as I did! See you soon!

Sneaky Peek Week BLOG HOP and a card for TCP Tuesday! :)

Hi all! Are you ready for a MONSTER, MEGA post? Because you are about to get one! First I am going to share my Blog Hop project for Sneaky Peek week, and THEN I am going to show you my  2nd TCP Tuesday card for this month. Are you ready? Lets Gooooooo! If you are Hopping, you should have come from Nancy's blog, and she is the first blog, so that's where you start if you want to do the Hop.
This is a mini tissue holder! I found the tutorial through Pinterest, the link is right here. Don't be intimidated that the text is in Spanish, it's very easy to tell how to make it from the photos! It holds a pocket pack of tissues. When I went to put mine in, I realized the opening in the plastic package was on the side, not on the top, so I actually pulled mine out of the package and just slipped them in the opening. Wouldn't this make a cute gift for a friend who is under the weather?

I used "Bounce Back." One of the new sets that is available NOW on our awesome new website! I can't wait for you to see it, it's got great search options, and categories, and project ideas and tutorials! Oh, it's super swanky, you should check it out for sure.

I made this sick little Bun green. Which is kind of funny when you think about it, because when someone is sick, sometimes we say "you look green." LOL But I also did a Green Bun for the last release. Should I make a thing of it? Like, "Where will Noelle put the Green Bun for the latest release?"  Haha!

I used the Framed Up CutUps and the new Dots CutUp. I cut one solid panel and one I cut with the frame first and then with the dots for a fun layered look.

Well, it’s also Tuesday and that means it’s time for another TCPTuesday card! You can check out our new blog at that link, too! :)  You may or may not know that this month’s challenge is an ANTI-embellishment challenge! No more than 3 embellies and no buttons, twine, or gems. It’s a little scary to venture into the world of little to no embellishments, isn’t it? Or, maybe it’s SPOOKY since we are only a few days out from Halloween! ;) But you have until the end of the day on Halloween to get your embellishment-less card made and uploaded! Trust me when I say-you’ll have time to play, because embellishing is what takes so much time on a card, right? ;)
My card for today features one of the stamps we released last winter-cute little Penguin is taking a ride on a giant snowflake in "Snow Kisses."
With this card, I discovered that it was fun to combine the Holiday Toppers CutUps with the Framed Up CutUps. I cut one with the large frame in green, then cut a second in white, and used the snowflake Topper on the white one only-that is also where I stamped Mr. Penguin.  Then I layered the white one over the green, and I think it gives a really cool layered look, wouldn’t you agree?  This would work well with any of our Toppers!

My few embellies in this case were sequins which are so popular right now! They give the card a bit of sparkle too.

Sneaky Peek Week: Day 4 "Let the Flakes Fly"

It's Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas! Yea! We have SEVEN fab new sets to show you this week and three awesome new CutUps. You are going to LOVE this release! So many fun winter sets for holiday projects, and some other cute surprises, too. :) Today we are peeking "Let the Flakes Fly" for your perusal.

As soon as I saw the preview on this set, I was totally a smitten kitten. Or smitten Cat Packer, or something like that! I love snowmen! I collect them, and have quite a large collection that takes over my house from right after Thanksgiving until February. I also loved that there weren't just cute snowmen, they are cute snowmen having a jam session! ;)

I used my Holiday Toppers CutUps at the top of the snowman panel there. Gosh, all those Toppers CutUps are so versatile. I use them all the time. I also added some snowflake buttons and some candy dots.

These "chillin'" dudes were super fun to color. I gave Guitar Snowdude a fun stripey scarf, and did some shading on Sax Snowdude.

At the bottom, I added a layer of Diamond Stickles, so it would look as if there was snow on the ground around them.

Here are some details you need to know:
1. All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tuesday, October 29.
2. If you're IN IT TO WIN IT, visit the TCP Forum at Splitcoastampers to comment and chat on the IN IT TO WIN IT thread every day for an opportunity to score some new TCP goodies.

Sneaky Peek Week! Day 3: "Go! Fight! Win!" (aka Broncos Bun)

Hi all, well I know I haven't been around much lately, but I'm about to fix that in a "Meowy" BIG way! It's Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas! Yea! We have SEVEN fab new sets to show you this week and three awesome new CutUps. You are going to LOVE this release! So many fun winter sets for holiday projects, and some other cute surprises, too. :) Today we are peeking "Go! Fight! Win!" for your perusal.

I also used this new CutUp die, "Dots." I will be using this a lot FOR SURE! Such a fun plate. :)

I got these stamps in the mail while I was out of town, but I knew Football Bun was in the package (ok, lets just call him Broncos Bun, because we all KNOW there aren't any other good NFL teams, don't we??) ;) Anyhow, we got home from said road trip, and my son's 13th birthday was 48 hours later. He is a MAJOR Broncos fan, so I knew without a doubt what my first card would be! :) This card is a bit smaller than A2, it measures 4" x 5 1/4."
I also used the Big Scallop CutUp on the top of the card. I made the front panel first and then cut a piece that was the same width but longer. I scored it at the height of the front panel, then beyond the score, I cut off with the Big Scallop. Then, I just adhered the back of the Big Scallop to the front of my card panel, for a fun card. This is a great technique to use for card making when you have a strip of cardstock that is the width you want, but not long enough.

I knew I wanted there to be a layer of separation between Broncos Bun and the card, so I created a little landscape circle. I punched a circle of light blue card stock. Then I die cut a strip of Grass and a strip of Clouds. Then, I used the punch on both those die cut strips so the edges would match perfectly. Adhere it all together and you have a landscape for your character to sit on. Or, in this case, run on.

Of course, I used Broncos colors, and added some green for impact. On the top of the card there is a strip of glitter tape (another goody from my package from Rebecca) and a wood banner that I stamped the sentiment on. A few candy dots are the only other embellies needed.

Here are some details you need to know:
1. All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tuesday, October 29.
