TCP TUESDAY 122

Hi all! Trying to sneak in one more card before the weekend hits! This is for this weeks Cat's Pajamas challenge TCPTUES122 The colors are Kraft, Denim, and Candy Apple Red. Here is the link if you want to join in the fun as well. Here's the little penguin stamp from my TCP birthday set, the sentiments are also from there. I used some of my blue/white printed paper (a little of each side!) that I'm just in LOVE with from TPC Studio's Mediterranean Summer line. The red "tablecloth looking piece is from BoBunny's Back to Backs, this is the Block Party line. That little tag is October Afternoon. And of course my punches from EK Success, gosh I would be just lost without my punches! (no, SERIOUSLY, I would!! ;) Well, that's it for me, have a lovely weekend! -Noelle

Nursing Home Project scrapbook page

Hi everyone! I hope you all are well. Another nutty week around my place (I know, no big surprise! ;) but I did have a scrapbook day with my best buddy Rachel last week & it got me in the groove. I don't know about you, I make cards all the time, but I seem to scrapbook in waves. Anyway, last week I mostly did Christmas pages, but I was kind of holding on to these pics here. I just didn't know what to do with them. These are pics from the service project we did with our church group. We all made cookies (3 dozen per family) and we got together one morning to ice them and decorate them. Then we drove them over to a nearby nursing home and passed them out. There are 7 kids in our group and so many of the residents just enjoyed seeing the kids so much. A couple of the little girls in our group sang "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" to some of the residents. And it's true that giving equals getting such a wonderful feeling in return. It was a very special day! So today I found this paper in my stash, and somehow it just seemed to fit the theme of "planting kindness." It's not Christmasey at all, but I think I like that. I love the paper flowers and accents I made. they were super simple, just a bunch of punches and some green jumbo brads. ps: fellow bloggers, if you have any tips for photographing scrapbook pages, I would SO appreciate them! I really struggled with these and they still are not the greatest. :(

Spotted Canary Posts

Hi all, here's some posts I did for my Spotted Canary Craft Spot. The Spotted Canary site is run by EK Success Brands which include: Martha Stewart Crafts, K & Company, Jolee's stickers, and EK Success punches. They have some other companies as well, but those are the 4 I know. I LOVE this site. I've been on some of the bigger sites for years and haven't really met anyone new. I've met the nicest people on Spotted Canary! I have online crafty friends now, pretty cool :) They also do alot of really cool challenges that anyone can participate in. Anyhoo..... I use alot of Stampin' Up! product, so I thought I'd do a few cards using more of their product, tho, they make the punches that SU! sells and they are the BEST punches! :) Here we go.....

This first one is probably my favorite (see, I am getting girlier in my taste!!) This cool ribbon from American crafts makes a perfect foil for this K & Company paper, that reminds me of vintage wallpaper. I used 2 of my SU!/EK punches on here (gotta LOVE that little birdie!) I put Prima flowers accented with pink and white rhinestone brads in the centers of the roses on this fancy ribbon. I used the "Happy bird-day" sentiment from my SU! Pun Fun stamp set. The SU! solid cardstock used is Elegeant Eggplant and Crumb Cake.

Ok, numero dos: The patterned paper is K & Company, the big gem is from Jolee's Parcel line (VERY cool stuff!) The solid cardstock used is SU! Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. The ribbon is Creative Imaginations and the Punch used is EK Success "Embossed Curve" pretty nifty punch!

This third one is a bridal card. The flowers are Prima again, but I ripped a couple apart and sort of built my own flower. Generic ribbon, K& Company fancy die cut mat. SU!/EK circle punches. The stamp is from SU! "All Holidays."

Dad's owly birthday card SFYTT

Hi everyone! I'm back- I actually made both this and the color challenge card last night and I wanted to post them then IN SPITE of the fact that my camera takes SO much better card pics during the day. I was so excited about these guys, I was willing to take bad pics anyway;) But, I couldn't find my camera, even after looking in all my usual haunts, so I had a little pout and ended up retiring and getting (at least a little bit of) sleep.Here's my Dad's birthday card, (Happy birthday, Dad! It's.... ALMOST in the mail!!) Try to ignore the fact that the "birthday wishes" is stamped crooked and that I had to go over the "hoot hoot hooray" with pen to make it readable on the pocket, ok? Who do you call when your links button is not working?? The links button police?? I think I am, unfortunately, just going to have to deal!

Stacey's Color Challenge Act 42

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!!! Here's my card for Stacey's Color Challenge http://stampinwithstacey.blogspot.com/2010/08/curtain-call-color-challenge-act-42.html The colors are Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz, Early Espresso and Ivory. I used another piece of paper from the Greenhouse Gala paper pack (how obvious is it, that that's the only DSP I have from the new catalog, lol?) Everything is SU! except the button (from my random jar again...) and the flowers (Prima). The canvas pieces are retired. Well, I can't chat long, we are heading out to the Denver Zoo today :) Yea!!! Hello there! (Spotted Canary Challenge and Stacey's Stampin' Stage color challenge)

Hi there! One son in school this morning, two to go!! Although, I gotta say, I got a wee bit weepy this morning, when my big 9 year old, did not want to be hugged in front of his friends:( He is getting SO big! I'm not ready. I know, I know, moms never are! His teacher seemed super cool and fun, so I'm sure he is having a good first day! I am multitasking again today. This is for BOTH the Spotted Canary August challenge AND Stacey's color challenge for this week. For Spotted Canary the challenge is to use the colors blue, green and brown on a project. I'm hoping the teal on the tag qualifies as green? Close, enough, anyway, I'm hoping. ALSO this is for Stacey's Stampin Stage color challenge. The colors are: Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Kraft (Crumb Cake), and white.  Here's those links Stacey's Stampin' Stage AND Spotted Canary. Ok, both links are currently on here, we will see if they behave and STAY PUT today! Ok, so, I know, you are thinking..."Hmmmmm, this looks somewhat similar to yesterday's card?" Well yes, yes it does! Same stamp set that Hero Arts Poly Clear set "Earth Flowers." then the same ribbon technique, I really LOVED the way it turned out yesterday, so I cheated and did it again:). Here's how you do the ruffled ribbon if you've never tried.... run a strip of adhesive along where you want the ribbon (I use that SUPER sticky tape with the red backing.... did you know that is actually toupee tape? Yep- fun fact for the day!) Then leave a tail, if you want the ends to stick out like I did, then loop your ribbon in even increments sticking it back down where it hits the tape, leave the ribbon smooth if you want to layer over it, like I did with this tag-if you like a more casual look, you can make the loops more uneven, or staple them in place. You can also iron or flat iron them down to make them flat. I keep my old flat iron in my supply bag for ironing ribbon. A great tool and you likely already have one at home. Ok, so this ribbon is an off brand, the tags (2 are layered) are October Afternoon, the button is from my random jar again, the brad and mini clip are SU! as well as all the cardstock and ink, and the mini letters are from Cosmo Cricket. I just got these letters at Archiver's and they are really affordable and fun! They come in a bunch of colors too, so that's always helpful. Well, I think that's it. Girly Flowery birthday card for Juliana SFYTT Kazan's sketch

Hi everyone! I hope you all are well- my hubby is out of town
:(...... visiting our new nephew:)
and the boys start school this week and next, so its back to the grind! Because I've been trying to squeeze in back to school shopping, laundry, and those last few fun summer activities, I'm multitasking. This card, for example, is a birthday card, a blog post and a SFYTT challenge for the week. And if Flutterby Wednesday does another open challenge tomorrow, I will submit this as well. We will see what they do- I posted on a whim and my card was featured!!! :) I'm sure all of you veteran bloggers are used to being featured, but not me, this is my VERY first time! I really couldn't be happier about it!! It's the card below, the fairy card that was featured.
Ok, back to today's card..... my friend Juliana is well known for being the girliest girl you could ever meet. She lives in CA and she's coming to see me this week, YEA!!! Her b-day was last week, so I am (LATE!) finally getting around to her b-day card. TALK about multitasking!! :)***Soooo..... NEW stamp set fresh outta the package. This is Hero Arts Poly Clear set "Earth Flowers." They say it stamps like rubber and it's really true. I like these FAR better than the image quality of regular silicone stamps. Paper is from SU! retired DSP "Cottage Wall." Ribbon, also SU!, also retired, Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon. Nestabilities die. Button from my button jar (most of the buttons I use are from those little packs on the clothes you buy? Yep- I save them ALL- a good money saving tip, if you don't do this!) The birthday stamp is from SU! "Upsy daisy" Lets see, what else, oh.... floral wire and mini rhinestones. Colors are: SU!
