You're A Lifesaver-TCPTUES278

Hi friends! It's time for another TCP Tuesday Challenge! Hope you can join us and play! Today we have a sketch challenge, brought to you by the talented Wendy McGaffey. Here is her great sketch:
If you pop over to the TCP blog I believe they will hook you up with some free cut files for the sketch, so you don't even have to measure a thing. They are available in a PDF that you can print and cut, or a digital cut file for your cutting machine. I cut mine on my Silhouette Cameo.
I made this card for my dear friend, Donna. She watched my 3 rowdy boys on Friday night since Hubby had a work event for us to go to. It sure is fun to get all gussied up sometimes! :) Thank you, dear Donna!
I used Aye, Aye Captain stamp set.  The largest paper is another I got from the Paper Source on my little shopping trip last week. :) It mostly got covered by the other layers, so I framed one of the seahorses that I punched out with some hardware. This is what the full big sheet looks like.
I really took my time coloring this Cap'n Bun. I am more pleased than usual with my coloring on this card, particularly on the boat and the water. :)
Are you interested in playing along with us? Here's the deets:

  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on our Splitcoaststampers forum and our Facebook page.

KKS Challenge-Let It Snow!

Hi friends! I am playing another challenge today. Can you believe it? None for months and then I do two in less than a week? I am pretty happy about it. :) Thanks for stopping in. Today, I am playing over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, the challenge this week is "Let It Snow!"

This is the only KKS stamp I have that is a winter or holiday theme, :( so I decided to make it work. Love her name, though! ;) This is Noelle, just like me. ;) I love KKS images, I have several mermaids, and Sarah Shopper, too. :)

The bulk of this card was coloring and cutting the stamp out. Then I just layered up a die cut, some DP, and some punched pieces. I tore a scrap of white glitter paper for her to stand on. The sentiment that came with the set, didn't work for the "snowy" theme, so I used a TCP one from another set.

These are my favorite colors, and this is such a cute little gal! I really had fun with this card. Thanks for stopping by to see it! :)

I'll be back in just a few hours with a new TCP Tuesday Challenge! :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge-Anything Goes!

Hi there friends! I have had a GREAT few days! We bought a new car last night-so awesome! :) I have never owned a new car before. New to me, yes. But actually new? NO, this is the first one! :) Then today I was getting my hair cut and happened upon this awesome store called The Paper Source racks and racks of art paper on the walls, I was in paper crafters HEAVEN! :) I was inspired to play a challenge for the first time in awhile. :) This is for Paper Smooches SPARKS "Anything Goes" challenge!

So, that store I mentioned is where this background paper came for this card actually. I had gotten these Feathers dies from Paper Smooches  since I'd recently had a publication with their products, Kim sent me some goodies. I hadn't used these yet and figured this paper was the perfect foil! The sentiment is actually from a Christmas set, Christmas Sampler.

I die cut several leaves from different colors of card stock. Then adhered them on top of each other and stamped the sentiment. I felt the background paper was too busy to just pop the leaves on top of, so I sandwiched a little die cut (cut from the same gold paper as the card itself) between the leaves and the patterned paper. I added a few wood dots to the bottom of the card.
I love the feathers, this is a "Fall-ish" card without being a true autumn theme, and I love the colors. I hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)

TCPTUES277-Inspiration Challenge "I Love My Mummy!"

Hi friends! I am a few days late, but finally getting myself together for the current TCP Tuesday Challenge!  Our dear Nancy is the hostess this round and she has some fab inspiration for us here:

Here is my card, I made it for my own Mom-hence the sentiment! I used BRAINS!!, the Framed Up 2 CutUps, and the Dots CutUp for dry embossing. I also used the FREE Cutables Cut files that coordinate with our Fall sets.

The mummy and sentiment were cut from some printable canvas from Silhouette, then stamped and colored. I thought it might be cute to use canvas since the mummy is supposed to be wrapped in fabric. ;)

That purple panel is dry embossed, here's a better shot of that...

There were a lot of circles in the inspiration photo, and I really incorporated the repeated element of the circles in my design.

Want to play along? Here are the details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blogas well as on our Splitcoaststampers forum and our Facebook page.

Happy Birthday, Ian!

SOMEHOW, (I am really not sure how) I am the mom to a 14 year old today! How on EARTH does this happen when I am clearly only 22-LOL! ;) Happy Birthday, Ian!

Ian is truly such a great kid. He is really empathetic by nature, kind, and giving. He loves athletics of any kind-of course triathlon and football top his list! His personality and sense of humor remind me so much of my dear Papa who died in '98. We were very close and Ian's constant joking and ability to laugh at anything reminds me so much of him :) Here's some pics of Ian through the years. There are too many, but I had a hard time choosing! These birthdays make me introspective for sure! :)

Because of his love of triathlon, and particularly biking, I did make him a cool birthday card inspired by these pillows from Anthropologie:

The card I made is up on CardMaker blog today, go check it out and leave me some blog love if you can! :) Have a fantastic day!

CardMaker & Inchie Arts Blog Hop!!

Hello there! Hope you are Hopping along with the CardMaker & Inchie Arts blog teams today! You should be arriving from Sharon's beautiful blog!
If you are just happening on this and want to begin the Hop, please begin at the CardMaker blog.

I had a lot of fun playing with these art squares! They are made from high-quality mat board & you can do just about anything to them and they don't wrinkle, buckle. or pill up. I made these projects today and another one that will be coming up on CardMaker blog on the 17th, and tried just about everything I could think of, and they are awesome!

We are having a Fall theme to the Hop today and here is my "official" card for the Hop. I say official because I made two other cards with the squares that I will show you today, but they are not Fall cards-so, shhhhhh! haha! ;) Here is the Fall card, I used the 3" black art squares on this project.  I colored a background with an orange gelato, and the heat embossed the ghost & sentiment over it in white pigment ink and white powder. A simple mat and layered embellishment I put together were all that were needed to accent that cute ghost.

So, here's a couple "unofficial" cards for you to see as well. ;)  The first was stamped with dye inks and gelatos, then spritzed with water for a watercolor look. Then the sentiment was heat embossed over the top of the flower image. This card uses the white 3" art squares.

And, this last one is quite possibly my fave, even though I am crazy about that silly ghost! Each white inchie square got a mini treatment of a stamped gelato circle, a dye ink stamped circle, and a heat embossed gold star. Pink is one of my least favorite colors, but I am really digging on the neon trend right now. I didn't have any neon pink card stock in my stash, so the mats for the inchies are made from a post-it note. :)

That is all for me today, please head to Dina's awesome blog next. Have a fantastic day!!

Happy WCMD 2014!

Hi friends! Happy World Cardmaking Day! The last few years I have not been able to celebrate this day, but this year (yea!) I was able to make a quick card for a friend's birthday that's coming up. :)
I bought her a little gift set at Bath & Body Works, and got this gift bag to match, I decided to base my card design on the gift bag.
I used my Lil' Inker Flags & Tags Dies and coordinating stamps for a quick and (I think!) ADORABLE card. I love the glitter! :)
Thank you for stopping by today! Happy WCMD! :)
