Hi all, here is a card I made for 2 challenges this week Curtain Call 67 and Mojo Monday #176. This sentiment is a cool digi stamp from a set over at my friend Arielle's digi shop The Wax Fruit Company. LOVE the way you can color in the letters:) Of course, the butterfly stamp is Verve. I did make the border between the patterned paper wavy like the sketch, but by the time I covered it with flowers, you couldn't tell anymore! Whoops. I made the border on my card with a fancy corner punch, printed my digi out on the Amethyst paper & went from there. No new techniques, just a pretty card for fun! :)
Hope you are all having a wonderful day! Check back tomorrow for a VERY special scrapbook page for this week's challenge at colourQ!
-Noelle:)
DUST IT OFF! : those small paper flowers are around five years old, also the Amethyst cardstock has been around for AGES:)
supply list: patterned paper: K and Company; digi sentiment stamp: Wax Fruit Company; paper flowers: Prima; butterfly stamp: Verve; corner punch: Martha Stewart Crafts; solid cardstock in Almost Amethyst and Whisper White: SU!; glitter brads: American Crafts
It's amazing card :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love circle cards and yours is perfect! Love the border and the pretty flowers! Nice use of the CC colors. Thanks for playing along with us. :o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWell, my comment was going to be "gorgeous!", but I don't want to be a copy cat, so... that is a truly beautiful card. And, good for you for dusting off your old stash this year... I should really be more intentional about doing the same!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Great colors.
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the Martha Stewart corner punch all around the circle. I can't imagine how many tries it took to get just the right size circle so that the punches would fit so perfectly! If you have any tips on how to get the right size circle for different corner punches, I'd LOVE it if you'd share!!
ReplyDelete@ColoradoCrafter: Can you believe I just got lucky? Seriously I did! My only tips would be make the circle significantly larger than you want the card & just go slow. When you get close to the end (3-4 punches away) just start spacing the punches a little differently to make it work. If you want to figure out the circumference you could probably just multiply the length of the longest part of the punch. Andrea Ewen uses this technique a lot and she does have a tutorial on her blog. Check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, the butterfly is the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteNoelle... THANKS for replying! I do follow Andrea Ewen's blog and have seen her medallions and tutorial. She does say that the spacing is a matter of trial and error... or in some cases LUCK! LOL!! Guess I'm just looking for the directions that will work every time without fail and I guess that doesn't exist... other than as you said and I had previously thought (but had been too lazy to do! LOL)... to measure the width of the punched design and base the circumference of the circle needed by that. Oh well, guess there's no magic formula since the corner punches vary in size. Thanks again for replying!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
