Snowman Tags brought to you with a heavy heart...

Hey all, I am writing with a heavy heart tonight... I am sure many of you have shed tears today, I know I have. Living in the Denver area for 15 years gives us a unique perspective on this latest school shooting in CT.... having witnessed the Columbine tragedy 13 years ago, and the Aurora movie theater shooting last summer. Of course, as a mom, my heart is truly broken for those families. I can't imagine losing a child, losing one of my babies, much less in such a horrific and senseless way. I've heard reports that many of the kids lost were kindergarteners.... Evan is 5, I just can't imagine. If you are of the praying sort, please join me in praying tonight for those families. We can't take away their pain, but we can pray. We can't change what's happened, but we can pray. I am praying and counting blessings tonight on my 3 most amazing gifts.....

I do have a project to show you, I have been so absent lately, I couldn't give these away without snapping a few shots to show. I'm hope to have more gifty packaging in the next week, too. I make these yummy Sweet Cinnamon Pecans at the holidays every year, and I found these cute plaid coffee bags at the Container Store for wrapping them up in, but I couldn't just let it go without a handmade tag... It's a sickness, I am fully aware! Anyway, kept it simple and made up 4 of these in less than 30 minutes. Crafting by the clock seems to be the norm lately, maybe it will be my new blog focus for 2013. ;)

So, these were pretty simple. I cut two white pieces in the smaller Spellbinders die, and sponged some light blue ink around the edges before I popped the die off, then cut them both in half. I stamped each one with this adorable set "A Snowman's Soul" from Lil' Inker. I decided coloring would be too time consuming, and opted instead to add some Diamond Stickles to look like snow. I die cut some DP in that same smaller size, and cut those in half, too. Then I cut some coordinating holiday DPs in the next size up of the Spellbinders Nestabilities. I topped the tag off with a green eyelet and a tassel made from baker's twine.

Well, that is all for me this evening. Go hug your greatest blessings and say a prayer. I know that's what I will be doing.

Much Love, Noelle

  4. Crafting by the clock - that sounds fun - maybe we can do some posts together and link them! I think there may be a challenge like that we could do too! These are so cute and fun and I can imagine how yummy the pecans are inside (wonderful gift btw). TFS!!! Hugz.

Your comments make my day! :) I've found it's easiest for me to return comments 1-2 times per week, so it might be a few days, but I WILL get over to your blogs and see what awesome things you've been up to. Thanks SO MUCH for popping by, blog friends!
