World's Best Mom gift set

Hi there! Happy Mother's Day one day early!! I just wanted to show you the cute little gift set I whipped up for my Mom this week. I made a few other cards, too, but you'll have to wait until Tuesday to see them, since they are using the upcoming ColourQ challenge colors. :) Since I won the Cricut Expression at the crop last weekend, I really wanted to play with my new toy! ;) And when I was at Michaels picking up some more 12" Cricut mats, a new cartridge just jumped right into my cart! No really, it did happen just like that! ;) Since I could now cut bigger items boxes/cards, etc. I picked up this uber-CUTE cartridge called "Wrap It Up." Same one I used to make hubby's birthday card the other day. Very cute images, and you can make a box, a card, a tag, or just cut the images themselves, really fun!

I started out with the little box. Nothing too fancy, just cut the fence part from some woodgrain papers, and the grass part from some old green card stock. Then I used the scraps to make basket filler with my fringe scissors and crimper, just like I did on the recent Extreme Easter Luncheon Invitation

One thing I did alter on the box design was that the fences had no tabs to attach together at the top part of the basket, only the bottom. So, I used little strips of paper to "connect" the top corners. Kapish? I also cut the coordinating tag, and decorated it with a punched flower, and a cool embellishment. Here it is all filled up with some Bath and Body Works goodies for my Mom.

For the card, I cut the coordinating fence and sentiment from the cartridge. I sponged brown ink over the top, and finished the card with some more rose colored seam binding, and another embellishment.

Hope you like my project! And for all you moms out there, I hope you have a WONDERFUL Mother's Day!! :)

big hugs, Noelle

supply list: Cricut cartridge Wrap It Up; DP: Stampin' Up and MME; embellishments: Jolee's "French General" line; seam binding: Ribbon Carousel; punch: SU! (retired); fringe scissors: Martha Stewart Crafts; paper crimper: Fiskars

Your comments make my day! :) I've found it's easiest for me to return comments 1-2 times per week, so it might be a few days, but I WILL get over to your blogs and see what awesome things you've been up to. Thanks SO MUCH for popping by, blog friends!
