Renaissance Card (Curtain Call 45 & 2S4Y 60)

Hi guys, a quickie post for today and then it will likely be this weekend before I'm back, as this week is shaping up to be a BUSY one! This is for Curtain Call 45 over at Stacey's Stamping Stage and also for Kazan's sketch 60 at 2S4Y. Here's my card. I just picked up this stamp last week at Target for SEVENTY-FOUR CENTS, yep, you heard me right, less than a dollar for this pretty pattern by Inkadinkadoo. The challenge colors are actually Concord Crush, Pear Pizzaz, White, and Crumb Cake (Kraft). I actually do not have either Pear Pizzaz or Concord Crush, so I used, Certainly Celery and Elegant Eggplant instead. So, to begin with I lightly stamped the SU! Medallion stamp in Versamark on my Crumb Cake card base. Then I embossed my bargain stamp using copper embossing powder on a piece of Elegant Eggplant. I matted the embossed piece with white cardstock after using the ticket corner punch. Then I adhered 2 Certainly Celery pieces together that had been die cut with a Spellbinders Netabilities die (the reason I did this, was to make the scalloped rectangle wider to accomodate my stamped image, look closely and you'll see the seam). At this point, I'm starting to think renaissance feel (sometimes my background in theater comes in handy....  :) so THAT was where I got the idea for the braided ribbon. I then adhered the braid down with glue dots, and used dimensional dots (stacked 2 high) for the decorative panel. I also had embellished the panel with a couple of Prima flowers and a copper brad. To finish the card I stamped the flowery circle from SU! "Just Believe" in Certainly Celery ink, and then layered the "just for you" sentiment from the same set in Eggplant ink. That's it for me, have a STELLAR week!! -Noelle

Your comments make my day! :) I've found it's easiest for me to return comments 1-2 times per week, so it might be a few days, but I WILL get over to your blogs and see what awesome things you've been up to. Thanks SO MUCH for popping by, blog friends!
