Birdie card for Color Throwdown and Kazan's Sketch
Hi everyone! I'm back today with Kazan's sketch and a color challenge I haven't tried before. Here's the link for The Color Throwdown.. Here is Kazan's Sketch 59. I hadn't stamped on the Presto Patterns paper before. I don't know why, but it never occurred to me to stamp on it before I brayered over it. Then when I was surfing, I saw Tracey Parrott's blog and saw a card where she had done that, on her blog Stamp for Joy http://stampforjoy.blogspot.com/2010/07/presto-paper-experiment.html . So, that gave me my jumping off point. I stamped the bird from SU! "Always" set in Basic Brown ink (I mean, really, who ISN'T in love with this little guy??) on the Presto Patterns cardstock, then I brayered over him in Certainly Celery, then I sponged the edges. I layered 4 strips of varying lengths that I had used the scallop border punch on & adhered them with eyelets. I sponged those as well. I layered up my bird piece with Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky and then dry embossed a Certainly Celery scrap with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then I wrapped some wide striped ribbon around the scallop piece and the dry embossed piece, and layered the bird accent on top with dimensionals. Added some Prima flowers and a NEW Making Memories metal flower (the white one near the bottom, I LOVE these!!) and I stamped the sentiment (from SU! "A Little Birthday cheer"). The challenge colors are : Kraft (card base), Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky and Certainly Celery. A TIP: If you don't have the Presto patterns cardstock, try the following for the same look; heat emboss a clear pattern on white cardstock, then stamp over it, like I did. You'll get the same effect, without the dinero;) That's it for me today, please comment or follow:) and have a STELLAR day!! ;D-Noelle
